Knoxville Newborn Photographer | Baby Ridge's Session

There is nothing quite like getting to see a family for the second time in just a few months. As a Knoxville newborn photographer working out of my in-home studio in Kingston, TN, one of my favorite parts of this job is building relationships with the families I photograph. This session was just that and such a full-circle moment.

A Family I Already Adored

I first met this family during their maternity session a couple of months ago. I was so excited when they reached out to book their newborn session with me too. There is something so special about photographing a mama during pregnancy and then getting to meet her baby just weeks later. Watching this family grow from “we’re expecting” to “meet our son” has been one of the sweetest parts of my year. It is exactly why I love specializing in both maternity and newborn photography here in the Knoxville area.

Meet Baby Ridge

From the moment Ridge arrived at the studio, he was an absolute dream! He stayed content and happy through the entire session. As any newborn photographer will tell you, that is the kind of baby every session hopes for. We were even treated to several sweet smiles throughout our time together. At one point, we even heard him laugh for the very first time, right there in my Kingston studio. Moments like that are exactly why I do this job. Capturing a baby’s early expressions and quite literally being present for a “first” is such an honor. It made this session one I will not forget!

On top of his easy-going personality, Ridge came with the most gorgeous full head of hair. It is always such a treat when a newborn has that much hair to work with on camera. It added such beautiful detail to every single image.

Personalized and Timeless Details

Mom brought along a swaddle with Ridge’s name on it, and it made for the most precious personalized keepsake images. Little details like this are one of my favorite things to incorporate into a session because they make the gallery feel truly unique to that baby.

We also kept things soft, timeless, and full of variety throughout the session, including:

Classic swaddled wrap featuring Ridge’s name, perfect for a personalized nursery print.
Family portraits with mom and dad dressed in soft neutral tones, creating a timeless look that will never go out of style.
Dreamy setup on a light blue backdrop paired with a white bear hat, giving us the coziest, most whimsical portraits.
Basket setup styled with a light sage green swaddle and a matching sleepy cap, for a soft and earthy, nature-inspired look.

Each setup gave this family a beautifully varied gallery. It included something for every corner of their home, from the nursery to the living room.

Studio Newborn Sessions in Kingston, TN

This session took place in my in-home studio, conveniently located in Kingston, TN, just a short drive from Knoxville and the surrounding areas. My studio is fully equipped with a variety of backdrops, wraps, and props so that every family walks away with a gallery that feels personal, cozy, and timeless.
