Knoxville Newborn Photography | Sadie's Newborn Session

Some sessions stick with you, and Sadie’s is one of them.

Sadie was born a few weeks early, which meant she came into the world smaller than most newborns I photograph. When her mom reached out to book her newborn session, I knew this one would be extra special. There’s something about photographing a baby who arrived early and fought hard to get here that makes every tiny detail feel even more precious.

Meeting Sadie and Her Parents

This was my first time meeting Sadie and her parents, and from the moment they walked into the studio, I could feel how much love surrounded this little girl. Meeting a new family for the first time is always a highlight of what I do, and getting to witness the bond between Sadie and her mom and dad during her very first photo session was a gift.

Sadie did absolutely amazing during her session. She was calm, content, and not fussy at all throughout the entire time, almost like she knew exactly what to do in front of the camera. Her ease made it possible to capture so many beautiful, quiet moments, from close-up details to portraits with her mom and dad.

A New Favorite Backdrop

For this session, we used a pink floral backdrop, and it might just be my favorite studio setup I’ve created to date! The soft pink color and delicate floral details gave Sadie’s portraits a warm, girly feel that I think will make these images even more special as she grows.

Sadie’s tiny size against the florals created some of the most delicate, storybook-like images I’ve captured in the studio, and I can’t wait to use this setup again for future sessions!

Capturing Every Tiny Detail

Because Sadie was a smaller newborn, we made sure to capture all of those tiny details parents treasure most: her hands, her feet, her hair, and the way she fit so perfectly into her dad’s hands. Photographing those size comparisons is one of my favorite parts of any newborn session, but it felt especially meaningful with Sadie.

Between the swaddled portraits, the family images with mom and dad, and the sweet little pink heart she held in one of her portraits, this gallery turned out to be one of my favorites this year.
